Matias Rogers Dead, 2 Injured in Head-On Crash on Sellers Avenue [Brentwood, CA]

Passenger and Pickup Truck Driver Hospitalized in Fatal Brentwood Accident

 
BRENTWOOD, CA (June 17, 2021) – Wednesday afternoon, Wednesday, Matias Rogers died, leaving a 15-year-old passenger in critical condition in a head-on crash on Sellers Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 5:35 p.m. Moreover, it occurred in the 4500 block of Sellers Avenue, just south of Delta Road.
 
Reports revealed that a southbound 2015 Acura sedan veered across the solid double yellow lines. Then, it went into the northbound lane of Sellers for unknown reasons. Afterward, it collided head-on with a 2003 Ford pickup truck.
 
Furthermore, responders pronounced the 16-year-old male driver of the Acura from Brentwood dead at the scene. Meanwhile, his 15-year-old male passenger was taken to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek with life-threatening injuries.
 
Moreover, paramedics transported the 19-year-old Ford male driver from Discovery Bay to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek with serious injuries.
 
Meanwhile, Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Coroners Office later released the decedent’s name as Matias Rogers, of Discovery Bay.
 
Also, officials said that it is still unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
