30-Year-Old Pronounced Dead after Fatal Semi-Truck Accident on U.S 93 in Elko
Elko, NV (April 17, 2020) – Thursday morning, 30-year-old Mathew Conyers, of Nevada was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 93.
Nevada Highway Patrol responded to the scene about 50 miles south of Wells. According to reports, Conyers was driving a southbound Chevrolet when he crossed the center divider and struck a semi-truck head-on.
As a result of the impact, the semi-truck eventually overturned.
Shortly after the initial collision, another truck struck the wreckage on the roadway. However, there has been no update as to the driver’s condition.
Due to the extent of his injuries, Conyers was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, a male passenger inside the Chevy was airlifted to a nearby hospital for further treatment of critical injuries.
Nevada Highway Patrol’s Multi-Disciplinary Investigation & Reconstruction Team responded and took over the investigation. Once available, more details will be given.
