Mason Young of Menifee Killed in Hellebore Street Motorcycle Collision [Murrieta, CA]

Murrieta, CA (May 20, 2023) – On Thursday, 23-year-old Mason Young of Menifee sustained fatal injuries following a Hellebore Street motorcycle collision.

The deadly collision unfolded at about 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Whitewood Road.

Investigating officers said Young was riding his motorcycle southbound on Whitewood Road when a 17-year-old girl driving a four-door sedan entered the left-turn lane on northbound Whitewood Road toward the residential area along Hellebore Street.

The teen initiated a left turn in front of Young who was unable to maneuver around the teen driver. As a result, his motorcycle struck the driver’s side door and front quarter panel of the sedan.

Unfortunately, Young sustained catastrophic impact injuries and was declared dead at the scene less than 10 minutes later. 

The girl, on the other hand, was not injured in the accident.

“No driver impairment or indicators of speed violations were discovered, and evidence suggests the primary collision factor to be failure to yield the right-of-way,” Lt. Spencer Parker said.
