22-Year-Old Man Dies after Pickup Truck Crash on I-5 at Main Street

VANCOUVER, WA (October 14, 2018) – A young man was killed in a rollover crash on the 5 Freeway, Sunday night. The deceased victim was later identified as 22-year-old Mason Salvador.

According to Trooper Will Finn with the Washington State Patrol, the collision took place around 9:50 PM at Main Street. As per reports, Salvador was traveling southbound on the highway in his pickup truck in the right exit-only lane when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a barrier. Due to the impact of the collision, the pickup rolled over.

He sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. No other injuries were reported in the crash. A GoFundMe page was set up to assist Salvador’s family with funeral expenses. Click on the link to donate.

Multiple lanes were shut down on both sides of 5 Freeway and Main Street for several hours after the incident. No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and the authorities believe that speed was a main contributing factor in the incident. No further information has been released to the public, as the investigation continues.
