Palm Springs, CA (May 28, 2024) On Sunday evening, 4-year-old Mason Lucas and 28-year-old Gregory Lucas-Martinez were killed and 3 others were hurt in a solo-vehicle crash on Highway 62.

According to the CHP, the tragic crash happened at about 7:30 p.m. on Highway 62 near the westbound I-10 interchange.

Reports say that a vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with a tree.

Officials pronounced the 4-year-old boy and Lucas-Martinez dead at the scene, while an adult woman and 2 minors were rushed to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Authorities are investigating the probable cause of the fatal crash.
