Injuries Sustained in Sparks Car Crash
SPARKS, NV (September 16, 2019) – Authorities arrested a man following a DUI car crash on 80 Freeway on September 13.
According to the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), a series of crashes on 80 Freeway at Rock Boulevard and Pyramid Way ended with an arrest.
Authorities arrested 19-year-old Mason Alan Johnson of Loyalton. He’s facing charges on DUI causing substantial bodily harm, reckless driving, minor in consumption, duty to stop at the scene of a crash involving injury and other charges.
The officials booked Johnson into the Washoe County Jail.
According to reports, the first collision involving an NHP trooper occurred just after 2:00 a.m.
Johnson traveled east on westbound 80 Freeway when he first struck an NHP Trooper. He then hit a semi-truck near the Pyramid Way freeway exit.
Upon crashing into the semi, Johnson drove the wrong way, struck the center median barrier before stopping in the center median of Pyramid Way.
