Jeanne Kendall Badly Injured in Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 70 in Marysville

MARYSVILLE, CA (January 30, 2019) – Two people were killed and two others were seriously injured following a head-on collision Wednesday morning in Marysville.

The collision happened around 11:20 a.m. on Highway 70 at Ramirez Road.

According to reports, a Honda Civic carrying three people was traveling southbound on the highway when it drifted into the northbound lane directly into the path of an oncoming Chevrolet pickup truck.

The Chevrolet did not have time to brake to avoid the collision and collided with the passenger side of the Honda. The driver of the Honda was ejected from the car upon impact.

The Honda’s driver, a 33-year-old man, and the right-front passenger, a 37-year-old woman, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Honda’s rear passenger, a 21-year-old Marysville man, and the Chevrolet’s driver, a 68-year-old Jeanne Kendall of El Sobrante, were transported to an area hospital with major injuries.

Two dogs in Kendall’s truck were unharmed.

The driver of the Honda was reportedly not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

Both lanes of the highway were blocked and motorists were being diverted onto Woodruff Lane, according to the CHP. All lanes were re-opened roughly around 2:00 p.m.

Alcohol and drugs were not being ruled out as factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
