Man Fatally Run Over by Driver in Martinez

 
MARTINEZ, CA (January 9, 2019) – A 75-year-old man lost his life Monday night after being hit by a motorist at Berrellesa and Green streets.
 
The 8:45 p.m. crash drew the attention of officers who later found an elderly man lying on the roadway. Responding crews began performing life-saving measures before taking him to John Muir Hospital for further treatment.
 
However, despite these efforts, the unidentified victim died at the medical facility.
 
The driver involved stayed at the scene and was interviewed by officers. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors in the crash, yet the Martinez Police Department is urging the public to contact them at 925-372-3440 if they know of anything.
