60-Year-Old Boulder Creek Woman Fatally Injured on Highway 236

 
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA (March 11, 2018) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on Highway 236, on Sunday morning, around 9:20 AM.
 
The accident was reported to be along the highway and Jamison Creek Road near Boulder Creek. The pedestrian was walking on the shoulder, when a green Subaru Outback swerved and struck her. She was identified by the Santa Cruz County Coroner’s Office as 60-year-old Marsha Nord of Boulder Creek.
 
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene of the crash and paramedics tried to revive her, but she was unresponsive to any resuscitation attempts given. Nord was announced dead at the scene.
 
Officials determined that the Subaru driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, and arrested the man. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the fatal incident further. No other information has been released to the public at this time.
 
A GoFundMe page was set-up by a friend to assist the family with funeral expenses.
