88-Year-Old Marlene Floyd Killed in East Houston Street Accident [Marshall, TX]

Marshall, TX (Aug. 8, 2023) – On Friday, 88-year-old Marlene Floyd sustained fatal injuries following an East Houston Street accident.

The authorities stated that at about 10:40 p.m. Marlene Floyd was walking in the 2600 block of East Houston Street when she was hit by a vehicle driven by an unidentified 71-year-old driver. 

The driver remained at the accident scene and cooperated with authorities.

Sadly, Marlene Floyd succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Marshall Police Chief Cliff Carruth said these types of traffic incidents are all too common and emphasized the importance of paying full attention to the road for both the pedestrian and the driver.
