Stoneridge Drive and Newtown Way Accident Kills 66-Year-Old Mark Fiala

 
Pleasanton, CA (May 10, 2021) – On Monday, 66-year-old Mark Fiala died in a pedestrian accident on Stoneridge Drive.
 
The fatal accident took place at around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Newtown Way.
 
Apparently, Fiala was walking his dog northbound along Newtown Way when he was struck by an eastbound car as he crossed the street.
 
Responders arrived at the scene and pronounced him dead.
 
On the other hand, his dog incurred minor injuries but is expected to survive.
 
The unidentified involved driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
 
Moreover, investigators have not determined whether alcohol or drugs may have been involved but there is no reason to suspect the driver was intoxicated during the accident.
 
Meanwhile, the Pleasanton Police Department’s traffic unit investigates the fatal incident. The authorities did not arrest the driver.
