54-Year-Old Mark Blackburn Loses Life in East Lake Mead Boulevard Collision [Las Vegas, NV]

Las Vegas, NV (September 26, 2023) – 54-year-old Mark Blackburn sustained fatal injuries following a bicycle hit-and-run collision on East Lake Mead Boulevard Sunday.

It was about 9:14 p.m. when the deadly collision unfolded east of the intersection with Mt. Hood Street.

According to LVMPD officers, evidence at the scene and statements from a witness indicated that a silver 2016-2017 Honda Accord sedan was eastbound on East Lake Mead Boulevard at a high rate of speed. At the same time, Blackburn on his red mountain bike was northbound on the same road. He was crossing the intersection with Mt. Hood Street.

Blackburn rode into the path of the speeding Honda projecting him to the east and onto the roadway.

The Honda and the bicycle collided but the Honda continued driving and remains outstanding.

Blackburn was rushed to UMC Trauma where he was declared deceased three hours later.

Moreover, the authorities have located the Honda but not the driver and they are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect driver.
