Marin Apodaca of Cutler Killed in Highway 63 Accident [Cutler, CA]

Cutler, CA (September 28, 2024) – 50-year-old Marin Apodaca of Cutler was killed in a Highway 63 accident Friday morning.

It was about 6 a.m. when the fatal collision happened on Avenue 392 south of Cutler.

Troopers said a southbound truck on Highway 63 had stopped to turn left but was rear-ended by another car.

Afterward, Apodaca stopped to pick up plywood off the highway and help clear the road from crash debris. That is when he was struck by a passing 2016 Toyota. 

Apodaca was declared deceased at the scene while another person from the initial crash was transported for cuts to his head.

The accident report stated Apodaca was on his way to work with his wife when the collision happened.

Meanwhile, the Toyota driver stopped and officers said they did not see the man on the roadway.

California Highway Patrol said no alcohol and or drugs seemed to be involved in the collision.

Apodaca’s family has set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.
