76-Year-Old Woman Dies in Single-Vehicle Accident near Grant Line Road

 
ALAMEDA, CA (January 23, 2019) – A woman was killed Wednesday afternoon following a solo-car crash near Grant Line Road. The victim was later identified as 76-year-old Marilyn Binder, a resident of Los Angeles.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 1:17 PM. A 2007 Toyota Corolla was heading west on Interstate 580 when it struck roadside barrels, went down 100 feet down an embankment, and overturned.
 
The Alameda County Fire Department firefighters arrived and attempted to resuscitate the severely injured driver. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.
 
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call CHP Dublin Office at (925) 828-0466. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
