Maribel Pimentel Lopez Killed in Shafter Car Crash

 
Shafter, CA (September 22, 2020) – On Monday, at around 7:03 a.m., 30-year-old Maribel Pimentel Lopez died in a car crash on the intersection of Burbank Street and Scaroni Avenue.
 
The incident began when a gray Nissan Altima was moving west on Burbank Street. At the same time, Pimentel Lopez driving a Chevrolet SUV was going north on Scaroni Avenue.
 
The Nissan stopped at the intersection. Then, the motorist pulled out of the intersection into the path of the Chevrolet.
 
California Highway Patrol confirmed that the Altima crashed with the SUV. Both vehicles ended up slamming into a fence of a nearby business.
 
Fire department officials along with the paramedics immediately responded.
 
Authorities pronounced Pimentel Lopez dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, CHP said the Nissan’s male driver did not see the Chevrolet. The Chevrolet SUV was at a close distance when Nissan entered the intersection.
 
Authorities continue to investigate the Shafter crash.
