Two Local Women Hospitalized after Accident on Second Avenue and Tietan Street
WALLA WALLA, WA (March 11, 2018) – On Sunday around 1 AM, two women were injured in a multiple-car collision on the intersection of Second Avenue and Tietan Street.
35-year-old Maria Uribe Meza of Walla Walla was driving southbound on 2nd Ave in a 2005 Nissan Altima, when she ran a red light and struck a 2007 Subaru Outback.
The Subaru was headed west on Tietan Street. Her car continued to move forward, where it hit the corner of a 1997 Ford F350 that was stopped at a red light on Tietan. The Nissan then drove onto Gesa Credit Union property, damaging the landscaping, and coming to a stop, according to Walla Walla Police Sgt Kevin Braman.
Driver of the Subaru, 67-year-old Darrel Felch was not injured in the accident. Uribe Meza and 67-year-old College Place woman sitting passenger in the Subaru, Marsha Felch, were injured and transported to the Providence St Mary Medical Center. Both were treated and released on Sunday, according to nurses at the hospital.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. No other information has been released at this time.
