Maria Rivera Struck and Killed in Menifee Accident

 
MENIFEE, CA (December 15, 2018) – On Saturday afternoon, a pedestrian was killed in an accident on Highway 74. The deceased victim was identified as 46-year-old Maria Rivera of Menifee.
 
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 5:30 PM near 3rd Street.
 
Officials stated that Rivera was crossing the road when she was struck by a vehicle. There is no further information on the vehicle or the driver involved. First responders arrived at the crash site and pronounced Rivera dead at the scene. No additional injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
 
All the highway lanes were closed while clearing operations and preliminary investigation took place in the area, but has since reopened. Authorities stated alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in this accident.
