Maria Lopez Crashes Into Police Car on Cleveland and Ridgeway Avenues, Arrested for DUI

 
Santa Rosa, CA (August 14, 2020) – A Santa Rosa woman was arrested for DUI after crashing into a police car on Cleveland and Ridgeway Avenues on Wednesday.
 
The collision happened on August 12 around 9 p.m. in the area of Cleveland and Ridgeway Avenues.
 
Authorities identified the woman as Maria Lopez, a 39-year-old Santa Rosa resident.
 
According to the report, police were assisting with traffic control during a fire incident that happened in the area. An officer arrived at the scene and parked his marked vehicle that has the patrol lights.
 
Then, a white Hyundai Accent came in and crashed into the patrol’s vehicle rear driver’s side quarter panel.
 
As a result, the officer sustained minor injuries from the incident and authorities took him to a local hospital for treatments. Furthermore, the officer has since been released.
 
Meanwhile, Lopez did not sustain injuries however, the investigators observed Lopez showing objective signs of intoxication. She was later confirmed driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.

Police Arrest

 
Police booked Lopez into the Sonoma County Jail for DUI causing bodily injury.
 
Moreover, the investigation continues. Police are asking anyone who might have information regarding the incident to contact Officer Michael Mieger of the Santa Rosa Police Department Traffic Division at (707) 543-3636.
