63-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver near Emma Prusch Farm Park
SAN JOSE, CA (September 22, 2019) – A woman killed in a hit-and-run crash Sunday evening in San Jose has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office as 63-year-old Maria Leon Leon.
The crash happened around 7:44 p.m. at South King Road and Lido Way near Emma Prusch Farm Park.
According to the CHP, Leon Leon, a San Jose resident, was walking in a crosswalk when a southbound vehicle hit her. The driver did not stopped to render aid. It turned onto westbound Story Road.
Paramedics arrived and found the victim lying on the roadway. They transported Leon Leon to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The vehicle was described as a dark-colored early 2000s model Ford Ranger with an extended cab.
In addition to the vehicle’s description, police released a general description of the driver: a Hispanic male, with a buzz cut, clean shaven, with a small mustache.
