Passenger Maria Federico Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on FM 1912 [Amarillo, TX]

Driver Injujrd in Amarillo Deadly Vehicle Crash

Amarillo, TX (February 21, 2025) – 78-year-old Maria Federico of Spearman was killed following a 2-vehicle crash on FM 1912 Thursday morning.

The fatal two-vehicle crash happened around 7 a.m. in Potter County.

According to the authorities, a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado was northbound on Lakeside Drive toward a stop sign on FM 1912.

At the same time, 62-year-old Daniel Rojas of Spearman, with  Maria Federico as his passenger, was driving a westbound 2014 Kia Forte on FM 1921.  

The Chevrolet driver disregarded a stop sign and drove into the path of the Kia. As a result, the two vehicles collided head-on.

Immediately, the rescuers responded to the scene and rushed Rojas and Federico to an Amarillo area hospital.

Sadly, Maria Federico was killed while Rojas is in serious condition.

The authorities are conducting a further investigation.
