Maria de Garcia, Luis Amezcus and Jorge Jimenez Jr. Killed in Head-On Crash on Oakdale-Waterford Highway [OAKDALE, CA]

Head-On Crash on Oakdale-Waterford Highway Kills Three

 
OAKDALE, CA (August 28, 2019) – Three people were killed following a head-on crash Wednesday evening in Oakdale, CHP officials said.
 
The crash happened around 9:50 p.m., on Oakdale-Waterford Highway between Milnes and Ellenwood Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, driven by 21-year-old Jorge Manuel Flores Jimenez Jr. of Oakdale, was traveling south on the highway at a high rate of speed.
 
Meanwhile, a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by 29-year-old Luis Alberto Amezcus of Snelling with his passenger, 60-year-old Maria Hernandez de Garcia of Parlier, traveled north on the highway.
 
For unknown reasons, Jimenez Jr. allowed the Camaro to veer left into the path of the Jetta. There, the two eventually collided head-on.
 
As a result, the impact caused the Jetta to overturn and come to rest on its passenger side on the the east shoulder of the highway. The Camaro remained upright. However, it came to rest blocking both lanes.
 
Within five minutes, the driver of a northbound Hyundai sedan did not see the Camaro and crashed into its right side, according to a witness. The Camaro spun and the Hyundai came to rest on the road’s shoulder.
 
Jimenez Jr., Amezcus and de Garcia died at the scene as a result of the impact.
 
The Hyundai was driven by 33-year-od Luis Miguel Seguraaredondo of Kerman, along with his passenger, Javier Napoles, 59, of Fresno.
 
One of the occupants inside the Hyundai was found in critical condition.
 
In addition, the other victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries. However, both were taken to a hospital for further treatment.
 
It is currently unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. CHP officials are still investigating the fatal incident.
