Kings County, CA (Aug. 7, 2023) – On Sunday morning, Maria Aguerralde, 82, of Huron, was killed and Julia Mendoza, 53, also of Huron, was injured in a Highway 198 collision.
The authorities received the cash report at around 11:30 a.m. just west of 27th Avenue.
The Hanford-area CHP office stated that 65-year-old Mariano Najar Martinez of Huron was driving a westbound 2000 Chevrolet Silverado on the freeway at approximately 70 to 80 miles-per-hour.
At the same time, Maria Aguerralde was also driving an eastbound 1998 Chevrolet S-10 on the same highway at approximately 55 miles-per-hour.
