Galveston Police Sgt. Christopher McNeil Involved in Broadway Fatal Crash
Galveston, TX (September 22, 2023) – On Wednesday night, 52-year-old Mandana Moeini sustained fatal injuries in a vehicle collision on 14th Street collision.
Officers said the fatal crash happened in the area of Broadway.
Patsy Trost lived in the area said she saw the collision outside her window.
“I heard this loud sound, very loud, and my cat bolted,” said Trost.
She said she saw the Toyota Camry that police said the victim was driving. Trost also said it was difficult to say if the other car belonged to Galveston Police Sgt. Christopher McNeil.
“I wasn’t sure it was a police car because no lights were flashing. There was no siren and I thought that was really, really strange,” Trost added.
Moreover, investigators said Sgt. McNeil was responding to a report involving a man with a gun who was making threats at a drug store when the collision happened.
Moeini’s family members stated that she was on her way to work at the University of Texas Medical Branch when the collision happened.
Officers said she made it to work as a patient, but the police said she died at the hospital.
Similarly, McNeil was also taken with minor injuries.
Moeini’s family is hoping for more answers about this fatal crash. Officers are investigating if McNeil’s lights and sirens were activated or if there was video.
In the meantime, the authorities cannot release further details at this time because it is an active and ongoing investigation.
