Long Beach Wrong-Way Car Accident Leaves Manasseh Marion and Kaylee Perez Dead

Long Beach, CA (November 1, 2020) – On Saturday, 23-year-old Kaylee Perez of Los Angeles, and Manasseh Marion of Long Beach, died in a wrong-way crash on the 405 Freeway.

The California Highway Patrol received a report early Saturday morning in Orange County about a Nissan traveling north in the southbound HOV lane of the 405.

When officers arrived at the Long Beach accident scene, the vehicle had already crashed head-on with another vehicle heading southbound in the HOV lane.

Authorities pronounced both Kaylee Perez and the driver of the vehicle she struck, Manasseh Marion, dead at the scene.

Further, because of poor visibility, eight more cars were involved in the pile-up. They did not see the crash and did not have enough time to stop.

The rescuers took seven people to area hospitals. Two of them were trauma patients, and five were minor injury patients.

Meanwhile, the authorities blocked the northbound lanes of the freeway at Palo Verde Avenue. Traffic was diverted off the freeway at Studebaker Road.

The CHP reported all lanes of the 405 freeway were reopened at around 10:30 A.M.
