Man Dies After Being Hit by Truck in Chula Vista

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (April 23, 2019) – A man was fatally run over by his own pickup truck at an auto dealership along Main Street near the 805 Freeway Sunday.
 
According to Chula Vista police Lt. John English, the crash took place around 11:15 p.m.
 
The unidentified victim was an employee at that Toyota of Chula Vista. According to reports, the victim stopped his pickup truck at a mechanical gate and exited his truck to open it. However, his truck began to roll forward, prompting him to chase after his vehicle until he was run over by the truck.
 
A female bystander saw the incident and tried flagging down a person to call 911.
 
Twenty minutes later, emergency crews arrived and attempted life-saving efforts, but the man died.
 
More on this crash is under investigation.
