SACRAMENTO, CA (December 22, 2019) – A man was struck and killed by a car on Highway 99 Sunday night in Sacramento, CHP officials said.
 
The fatal incident happened around 6:17 p.m., along the southbound lanes of Highway 99 near Mack Road. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was walking towards the center divider on the highway when a Dodge pickup truck struck him. As a result, the male pedestrian died at the scene. However, the name of the victim has not been released.
 
The surrounding area on Highway 99 was closed off for a brief time while crews worked on preliminary duties. The driver of the Dodge stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities.
