Unidentified Victim Hospitalized after Pedestrian Crash on El Cajon Boulevard in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 8, 2020) – Tuesday evening, a 56-year-old male pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Copeland Avenue.
 
The San Diego Police Department stated that the victim was crossing south on Copeland Avenue and El Cajon Boulevard around 7:00 p.m. Meanwhile, a driver of a white, older-model Ford Expedition, failed to yield through a red light and hit the male pedestrian.
 
After the crash, the driver then escaped west toward 15 Freeway.
 
According to the authorities, the pedestrian used a crosswalk when the collision happened. Upon the arrival of the medical responders, they took him to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
 
Medics say the man suffered from a brain bleed, collapsed lung, and several rib fractures.
 
The surveillance cameras of nearby businesses captured the crash. However, the authorities were not able to obtain an additional description of the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle.
