Man Rescued After Accident on 82 Freeway [Benton City, WA]

Truck Lands in Canal After Crash Near Yakitat Road

 
BENTON CITY, WA (September 28, 2019) – A man was rescued after a accident on 82 Freeway on early Saturday evening.
 
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened near Yakitat Road at approximately 3:30 AM. Based on a report, a truck was sent over a guardrail and tumbled on its side into an irrigation canal after colliding with another vehicle.
 
The man was able to move out of the truck before Benton County Fire District 2 firefighters pulled him from the cold, fast-moving water.
 
Officials have not released any details about the crash or either driver’s condition.
 
The Washington State Patrol was on scene investigating and closed one lane of the interstate. It was not yet known if alcohol and/or drugs are a factor in the collision.
