One Dies, One Hospitalized after two-Vehicle Crash at West and Bullard Avenues in Fresno
Fresno, CA (March 11, 2021) – Thursday afternoon, a man died, and the other sustained injuries in a two-vehicle crash at West and Bullard Avenues.
The Fresno fatal crash happened just before 3:30 p.m., though police reports indicate the incident began before that.
Police said that around 3:12 p.m., the department received a call to check on a man’s welfare inside a vehicle at Marks and Browning avenues. Officers then responded and located a utility van with a man alone in the driver’s seat.
“Officers attempted to catch up with him and pursued him for a very short distance, trying to pull him over,”
However, due to the speed that the subject was driving, the officers disengaged from pursuing him.” Police said.
Moreover, the Penske rental van continued east on Bullard before it collided with a turning vehicle south on West.
The crash’s impact caused the van to roll over and hit a street light on the southeast corner before igniting.
The driver was pronounced dead at the crash scene. Witnesses told officers the man ran a red light.
Furthermore, the other vehicle driver complained of pain and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and is expected to survive.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased victim.
