Pedestrian Dead in Long Beach Hit-and-Run Accident on Pacific Coast Highway

 
LONG BEACH, CA (October 20, 2020) – On Monday, a man died in a pedestrian crash on Pacific Coast Highway and Lewis Avenue.
 
According to authorities, officers responded to the area of PCH and Lewis Avenue at around 7:20 p.m. Upon arrival, responders found an injured pedestrian on the north sidewalk of PCH.
 
The Long Beach Police Department said that while walking eastbound along the south sidewalk of PCH, the man attempted to cross the road outside a crosswalk. However, a dark colored-sedan, possibly a Dodge Challenger struck him in the number three lane of westbound PCH.
 
How the victim got to the north sidewalk, where officers located him is still unknown to the authorities.
 
The incident is under active investigation.
