Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Pickup Truck at East Nebraska Avenue
SELMA, CA (September 17, 2018) – On Monday evening, a man was killed in a pedestrian crash on Highway 43. The name, age, and place of residence of the deceased victim were not immediately released, pending notification of family members.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision took place after 10:00 PM, near East Nebraska Avenue. The victim was walking in the crosswalk and was about halfway through the northbound lanes when a pickup truck crashed into him.
Several witnesses stayed next to man to make sure he wasn’t hit by more oncoming cars. By the time emergency paramedics arrived at the scene, he had already succumbed to his severe injuries. The driver of the pickup truck stayed at the crash site and cooperated with officials during their investigation.
No durther details were disclosed to the public, as the authorities continue to investigate.
