Jaywalking Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle near Ramon Road

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (November 6, 2018) – A man was killed Tuesday evening following a pedestrian accident on Whispering Palms Trail. The identity of the deceased victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.

As per reports, the incident took place near Ramon Road. A pedestrian was jaywalking near the intersection when he was struck by a vehicle.

The victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Meanwhile, the driver of the involved vehicle remained on site and cooperated with investigators.

Investigators said that several beer bottles were found near the pedestrian. A blood test will be conducted on both the victim and the driver to determine whether or not impairment is a contributing factor in the fatal collision.
