Fatal Reno Pedestrian Accident on Fourth Street
RENO, NV (September 30, 2019) – A man who laid down in the roadway died in a pedestrian accident on Fourth Street on September 28.
Emergency response teams came to East Fourth Street and Evans Avenue after a vehicle and pedestrian crash. When they arrive, they found the fatally injured pedestrian.
Reno Fire, REMSA and Reno Police officers all came to the scene. The investigation revealed that the man walked into the road. When he laid down in the westbound travel lanes about 10:50 p.m., a vehicle hit him.
The vehicle then escaped the scene and didn’t stop to check the pedestrian’s condition. The Reno Police revealed that the vehicle is a 2004-2015 light-colored full-size pickup truck similar to a Dodge Ram.
Moreover, the pedestrian’s identity remains unreleased due to pending family notification.
The incident led officers to shut down both directions of 4th Street and Evans Avenue. The roads between Evans Avenue and Lake Street remain closed for several hours during the investigation. The roads reopened by 2:00 a.m.
Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Reno Police at (775) 334-2141. Furthermore, the Secret Witness offers a $500 reward for information.
