Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on 17th Avenue [Phoenix, AZ]

Fatal Vehicle and Pedestrian Collision Near Van Buren Street

 
PHOENIX, AZ (October 3, 2019) – A man died in a pedestrian accident on 17th Avenue on early Thursday morning.
 
According to the the Police, the accident happened near Van Buren Street at approximately 3:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, the 55-year-old man was crossing mid-block when a 2019 Volkswagon Jetta going westbound hit him.
 
The paramedics sent the victim to the hospital, where he later died due to severe injuries. His identity was not yet released.
 
Van Buren Street was closed between 17th and 15th avenues while they investigate the scene of the collision. Police say the driver of the car remained at the crash scene.
