SEATTLE, WA (February 25, 2021) – Wednesday morning, a 66-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident on 10th Avenue and Newton Street.
 
The incident happened just around 9:00 a.m. on 10th Avenue East and East Newton Street. An SUV struck the 66-year-old male pedestrian at the intersection.
 
According to reports, a Metro bus driver witnessed the collision and reported it to 911.
 
Upon sustaining grave injuries, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries despite lifesaving efforts.
 
Meanwhile, responders took the 67-year-old female driver to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition, with life-threatening injuries.
 
The preliminary investigation revealed that as the woman drove north on 10th Avenue, she lost control of her car. Then, she struck the man and a parked van.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t identified why the driver lost control.
 
Due to the crash, the authorities advised motorists to avoid the area during the cleanup and investigation.
