Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on 405 Freeway in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, CA (November 28, 2019) – A man was killed in a suspected hit-and-run crash Thursday afternoon in Long Beach.
The fatal crash happened around 4:12 p.m. on northbound 405 Freeway at Studebaker Road.
CHP officials said a male pedestrian wearing a dark-colored raincoat was stumbling on the right shoulder of southbound traffic. Moments later, the man was struck by an unknown vehicle.
Arriving units found no vehicle at the crash site. They attempted life-saving measures on the pedestrian but unsuccessful. The unidentified victim was declared dead at the scene.
At this time, authorities are still investigating the incident and on the lookout for the suspect.
