Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Bethel Canyon Road

 
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (August 31, 2019) – A man died in a pedestrian crash Saturday evening in eastern Contra Costa County, according to firefighters.
 
The crash happened around 9:20 p.m. in the 6200 block of Bethel Island Road near Taylor Road.
 
Crews responded to the scene and found the man, possibly in his 60s, lying in the roadway. They provided emergency life-saving measures, but unsuccessful.
 
The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
The driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck stayed on scene.
 
CHP officials are still investigating whether alcohol or substances were contributing factors.
