Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on 91 Freeway at Wilmington Avenue [COMPTON, CA]

Fatal Pedestrian Crash on 91 Freeway in Compton

 
COMPTON, CA (January 1, 2020) – A man was killed in a pedestrian crash Wednesday morning in Compton, the California Highway Patrol reported.
 
The pedestrian was reportedly lying in the third lane of 91 Freeway at Wilmington Avenue around 5:30 a.m.
 
A witness told the CHP vehicles were swerving to avoid the body and that a vehicle with damage consistent with a traffic collision was nearby.
 
Arriving units pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The victim was only described as a man, who was approximately 45 years old.
 
CHP officials issued a SigAlert in the area, blocking all westbound lanes and the on-ramp from Artesia Boulevard to the westbound 91 Freeway.
