Manteca Crash on Spreckels Avenue Kills 1 Motorist and Sends Another to Hospital

 
MANTECA, CA (July 12, 2019) – A man was killed following a multi-vehicle crash at Spreckels Avenue Friday afternoon in Manteca, police said.
 
The crash happened around 3:31 p.m. at the intersection of Spreckels Avenue and Dupont Court.
 
According to the CHP, several vehicles including a 1974 Chevy Pickup and a 2012 Toyota Corolla were involved.
 
Firefighters responded to the scene and found one of the drivers trapped inside a vehicle and was unresponsive. That driver, a Modesto man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Another driver was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries and in an unknown condition.
 
Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have been factors in the crash.
 
Police advised motorists to avoid the area for several hours while investigators work to determine the cause of the crash.
