Worker Dies after Accident Involving Forklift on South Rice Avenue

 
OXNARD, CA (July 11, 2019) – A man lost his life Thursday afternoon in a forklift accident on South Rice Avenue. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at about 3:45 PM. Due to unknown reasons, a forklift rolled over a man.
 
Emergency responders pronounced the man dead at the scene. Meanwhile, officers filed a report with the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health to conduct a workplace safety investigation.
 
Deputies determined the incident to be an accidental industrial death and found no suspicious activity. Witnesses are encouraged to cooperate with investigators as soon as possible. Authorities will release additional information to the public once it becomes available.
