Man Killed in Car Crash at Varner Road and Ramon Road [THOUSAND PALMS, CA]

Driver Dies after Car Crashes into Pole on Varner Road in Thousand Palms

 
THOUSAND PALMS, CA (July 27, 2019) – A man was killed in a car accident Saturday evening in Thousand Palms.
 
The crash happened around 9:06 p.m., on Varner Road, between Ramon Road and Monterey Avenue. First responders arrived to the area shortly after.
 
CHP officials responded to the scene and located a red Toyota Avalon facing the wrong way on the westbound right shoulder for unknown reasons. The car also appeared to have crashed into a street light pole.
 
Paramedics immediately performed cut and rescue on the victim. However, the unidentified male driver was later pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the impact. A coroner was also called to conduct a full report.
 
No one else was injured in the crash. The surrounding area was also closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened.
 
Furthermore, details surrounding the collision were not made clear in the reports and media releases. The incident is still currently under investigation at this time.
