OLIVEHURST, CA (April 3, 2025) – Wednesday afternoon, an 18-year-old man died in a brutal rollover crash on Highway 65 and McGowan Parkway.

The incident happened at about 2:11 p.m. on Highway 65 and McGowan Parkway.

Officials reported that a Toyota Camry overturned and came to rest on the right shoulder, sustaining significant damage. Before emergency crews arrived, bystanders cut the seat belt and pulled the teenage driver from the wreckage, attempting to save his life.

Despite their efforts, the 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, according to CHP. Two passengers in the Camry were transported to a local hospital with injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

Investigators determined that the crash occurred when the Camry attempted to pass a Honda Accord. As the Accord’s driver veered left, the Camry’s driver lost control. The Accord’s left front struck the Camry’s right rear, causing the Camry to spin, veer off the road, hit an embankment, and overturn multiple times.

A passenger in the Accord suffered minor injuries, while the driver and another passenger were unharmed. CHP stated that alcohol and drugs were not contributing factors in the crash.
