1 Dead in Anderson Auto Accident on Interstate 5 near Balls Ferry Road

ANDERSON, CA (April 2, 2025) – Early Tuesday morning, a 25-year-old Sacramento man died in a brutal 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near Balls Ferry Road.

Authorities say a high-speed crash involving a blue Mazda sedan and a white Jeep SUV occurred around 1:20 a.m. The collision took place when a 64-year-old Washington man driving the Mazda was rear-ended by the Jeep.

The force of the impact sent the Jeep off the road, crashing through a guardrail before tumbling down an embankment. Meanwhile, the Mazda came to a stop in the center divider. Its driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Tragically, the Jeep’s driver did not survive. 

Two passengers, teenage males from Sacramento, were transported to Mercy Medical Center. The 16-year-old sustained minor injuries, while the 18-year-old’s injuries were severe.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the crash, but initial reports indicate that neither alcohol nor drugs played a role.
