1 Dead in Long Beach Pedestrian Crash on 710 Freeway and 9th Street

 
LONG BEACH, CA (October 6, 2021) – Early Tuesday, a 33-year-old man died in a hit-and-run accident on 710 Freeway and 9th Street.
 
The Long Beach Police Department officers responded to the scene at around 3:00 a.m. Moreover, the incident happened in the northbound 710 Freeway and 9th Street off-ramp.
 
Upon their arrival, they found a man down in the road. Afterward, paramedics declared the man dead at the scene. His identity remains undisclosed due to pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, the preliminary investigation confirmed that the man walked on the right shoulder of 710 Freeway. As he crossed into lanes of traffic, a white SUV hit him and escaped the scene.
 
At this time, investigators are still trying to confirm whether a second vehicle hit the man.
