Fatal Train Collision on Belmont Avenue Fresno

 
Fresno, CA (April 9, 2020) – Thursday morning, an unidentified man was killed in a train accident on Belmont Avenue.
 
Authorities responded to the accident after receiving reports around 8:00 a.m., on April 9. Shortly after, Fresno Police arrived to the area near Abbey Street.
 
Witnesses say that a man walked straight past the guard. According to Fresno Police, the train crossing sign was working correctly at the time.
 
Emergency crews immediately transported the victim to Community Regional Medical Center for further treatment of life-threatening injuries.
 
Due to the extent of his condition, hospital personnel pronounced him dead. At this time, authorities have yet to disclose the identity of the deceased victim.
 
The train crossing closed as officers continued the cleanup and preliminary duties. However, it was later re-opened.
