Male Driver Dies after DUI Two-Vehicle Crash on South H Street and Planz Road in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA (May 13, 2022) – On Friday, a male driver died in a DUI two-vehicle crash on  South H Street and Planz Road.

Subsequently, police arrested 25-year-old Christian Valencia of Arvin on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

Bakersfield Police said a man driving a BMW recklessly through the area of White and Hughes lanes crashed into a Toyota Camry.

The man driving the Camry died at the crash scene.

EMS took Valencia to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

BPD said an investigation found Valencia being under the influence of alcohol and a suspected controlled substance during the incident.

Moreover, Valencia will be booked into jail after he is released from the hospital.
