Speeding Kills 23-Year-Old Man in Woodman Street Crash
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 26, 2019) – A man died in a car crash on Imperial Avenue on early Monday morning. The victim’s name is not yet released.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Woodman Street at approximately 2:30 AM. Based on a report, the driver drove at a high rate of speed when it flew 15 to 20 feet off the road and struck a pole on the tracks. Due to impact, the car’s engine flew out and landed on a parked car.
An attending coroner proclaimed the driver of the car dead at the scene. The victim was only identified as a 23-year-old man.
Police issued a SigAlert for Imperial Avenue between North 66th Street and 68th Street while authorities conducted a clearing operation in the area. SDPD and San Diego Fire-Rescue were investigating the incident.
