Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Drivers on Highway 99 in Elk Grove

 
ELK GROVE, CA (September 15, 2019) – A man was killed after being struck by two vehicles Sunday morning in Elk Grove.
 
The crash happened just after 6:00 a.m. on southbound Highway 99 at Grantline Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a male pedestrian was walking southbound on the highway when he was struck by two vehicles. Both vehicles drove away, leaving the pedestrian behind.
 
As a result, the man died at the scene. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim once next of kin is notified.
 
The CHP closed down parts of Highway 99 for several hours, diverting the southbound traffic off at Grantline Road.
 
The hit-and-run drivers remain at large. Further investigation is underway.
