Man Injured in Scooter Crash on Cypress Avenue near Park Boulevard [San Diego, CA]

SAN DIEGO, CA (July 1, 2021) – Tuesday night, a man sustained injuries in a scooter crash on Cypress Avenue near Park Boulevard.
 
According to San Diego Police Officer John Buttle, the incident happened at around 10:55 p.m. Moreover, it occurred on Cypress Avenue near Park Boulevard, east of state Route 163.
 
Reports revealed that a southbound motorized scooter traveled on Park Avenue. Then, it struck the right front door of a westbound Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV that entered westbound Cypress Avenue without yielding.
 
Furthermore, responders transported the 20-year-old male driver of the scooter to a hospital. The crash left the scooter rider with a fractured skull, a broken rib, and contusions on both lungs. The victim is expected to survive.
 
Meanwhile, the 62-year-old male driver of the SUV sustained no injuries in the crash. The driver remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.
