1 Hospitalized in Olympia Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 5 near Plum Street
OLYMPIA, WA (August 31, 2021) – Sunday night, a man sustained injuries in a pedestrian crash on Interstate 5 near Plum Street.
According to authorities, the incident happened at around 9:18 p.m. Moreover, it occurred on Interstate 5 on the off-ramp to Plum Street.
Reports revealed that a 55-year-old Olympia woman driving a Honda Accord struck a male pedestrian. According to reports, as the man laid on the road, the woman hit him.
Furthermore, responders transported the male patient to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle via helicopter. He sustained facial injuries, Trooper Robert Reyer said.
Moreover, officials believe that the victim may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
The incident closed the ramp for more than two hours but has long since reopened.
